Management Team

Mike Barton (Barty) - In his second spell at the club, Mike will be looking to improve on his best finish in the league with the Guil (4th.2005-2006) this season.Mike took over at the helm with League of Wales outfit Caersws two seasons ago gaining vital experience along the way. His playing experiences as a goalkeeper are second to none. His former clubs include Shrewsbury Town, Newtown TNS, Welshpool and Rhayader (in which he gained 297 League of Wales appearances), . He was also fortunate to be part of the Newtown side that represented Wales in the European qualifiers. Buzz light-year wannabe. Loves a salad dish.

Bernie Jones (Bernie) - Bernie is a highly respected coach in the county and Mid Wales area. He his Head of the PE department at Welshpool High School. In his third season with the club, he continues to share his influencing knowledge with the younger and older players respectively. Has a huge amount of respect from the players. As a player himself, he played for both Welshpool Town and Caersws in the League of Wales as a disciplined left-back. In addition he spent the tail end of his playing career at the Guils and Llanidloes in the early years of their Cymru Alliance existence. Loves to use the sun-beds. Hates working-out. Never one to dispute the fine system at the club. Also known as the 'Eco Warrior' for his services to the natural world. Works in a Jaffa Cake factory in his spare time.

Chris Williams (Baz/Perry/Pezza) - Chris returns to the first team after a couple of seasons at the helm with the reserves. He has re-joined the first XI to learn and gain invaluable experience off Barton and Jones. His playing career has been plagued with numerous injuries forcing him into an early retirement. During his playing days he attended the Pro-Tech Academy in London where he enjoyed a stint at Barnet FC. He has a number of roles this season including; Social Secretary, Trainer and assisstant assistant to Barton and Jones. Has terrible reseeding hairline. Wannabe cockney. Welshpool through and through. Dates a Geordie.

Goalkeepers

David Littleford (DL) - As a youngster, he played for Shrewsbury Town as well as gaining League of Wales experience with Newtown. Played for Queens Park in the Cymru Alliance before signing for the Guils permanently. Dave is a fantastic shot-stopper who is highly regarded at this level. A Graduate from Chester University who is now a Teacher of Physical Education at Grove High School in Market Drayton. Best Haircut in the team.Had a nightmare season last year. His mother cuts his hair. Bound by the ring next summer.

Defenders

Emyr Roberts (Em) - A commanding central defender who swept the end of season awards last year, winning both the Manager’s and Supporters Player of the year. Has won several honours with Spar Mid Wales outfit Llanrhaeadr FC. Emyr is a Maths teacher at Llanfyllin High School and has a keen interest in retro football shirts, specifically Oldham Athletic and Manchester United. Likes to think he can pour a good pint. Vertically challenged. A reliable penalty taker. Saw the light when he joined the Guils from Llanrhaeadr.

John Gamble (Johnny/Gamble/Shambles/Rusty) - Jon is an orthodox full-back who loves to get the ball down and play football. Over recent years he has struggled with injuries, this season however he’ll be looking to get back to peak condition. His previous clubs include Shrewsbury Town youths and local rivals Waterloo Rovers. Likes to think he can play golf, drink and use his left peg. Soon to be bound by the 'Ring' also.

Llion Davies (Lion/Ffion/Cling-ong) - His second season at the club. Has also played for Glantraeth in the Cymru Alliance. Llion is a versatile player who can play anywhere along the back four and always gives 100%. Very passionate about football. A trainee Primary History Teacher at Aberystwyth University. Likes to think he can play football and is never one to start fights on Club Socials. Llanfair lad wannabe. Best bet on 'Dick of the Day,' every day.

James Henderson (Hendo) -A master’s student at Liverpool University, Hendo proved to be a typical Central Defender last year in the appearances he made for the club. This is second spell at the club following spells at Shropshire based Ellesmere rangers and Morda FC. Tidiest looking player on the team, needs to get on the weights big style. Played the lead role in the fim 'Castaway.'

Midfielders

Gareth Jones (Gaz) - A village lad who is Guilsfield through and through. A fine midfielder with a great engine. Gareth already has a host of experience behind him, including playing experience with Chester City, Aston Villa and Ipswich Town at youth level. Gareth has represented Wales at under 16 and under 18 level, captaining the latter. Gareth has also gained League of Wales experience with Welshpool Town. A teacher of Physical Education at the Marches School in Oswestry. He is also currently studying for his Masters at Loughborough University. Likes to think he has the best hair in the team. Always first out of the showers.

Matthew Newton (Newts) - Shrewsbury based Newts is a committed member of the Guils squad who enjoys the rough and tumble of the Cymru Alliance. Matt possesses a never-say-die attitude and certainly likes to express himself in a challenge. Another versatile player whoa has played in goal, defence, midfield, attack and on the bench. Matt was part of the 2006 Central Wales cup winning team. A great team player. Matt has been adopted by the Village. Never one to get opposing players sent off.

Richard Astley (Rick/Rich) - A new signing from Llanfair United this season. He is currently studying conservation studies at Liverpool John Moores University. Rich is a versatile player who can play in defence, midfield and attack. Has represented Newtown in the League of Wales, and has also won two Spar Mid Wales League Cup Winners with their Reserve outfit. One of the Llanfair crew at the club this year. Named after the 80’s pop singer Rick Astley.

Rob Cookson (Cookie/Sharky) - Rob returns to the club following a season in the League of Wales with Caersws. As a youngster he represented Welsh Schoolboys and gained vital experience playing Shrewsbury Town at youth level. Predominantly left footed, Rob is a great crosser of the ball and is considered a dead ball specialist. Has also played for Welshpool Town in the League of Wales. Never one to moan. Great right foot.

Graeme McGill (Gravy/Gra/Gilly) - Graeme returns to the club following a year of travels around the globe. He is a long-serving member of the team who thrives on a midfield battle. Has won the Cymru Alliance league with Welshpool Town in the 2001-2002 season. He has a keen eye for goal, and loves to take penalties. Graeme is due get married to the daughter of Vice-Chairman Richard Davies (Dixie) next summer. The quickest player in the team, by far.

Striker

Ross Frame (Rossi/Frame) - A summer transfer signing from Mid Wales rivals Carno. Ross caught the eye of manager Mike Barton with his close control and positional play. He played an instrumental part in Caereinion High School’s Welsh Cup success last year, and will now be looking to break into the Welsh Schoolboys squad before departing for University. Gained experience at the Shrewsbury Town Centre of Excellence. Flies the flag for Llanfair with Astley and Llion (wannabe). Likes to think he can drink cider by the gallon. Always sober on Club socials. Worst drinker in the team.
